How to use my words to increase
your sales dramatically
Clean Copywriting
What do you think the ingredients necessary to create
a successful online business are?
Does it include?
- A beautiful
site?
- A site with
great scripts and functionality?
- A site with
a great concept
easy navigation, fast to load,
well organized pages ?
- A site with
very high traffic?
- A great hosting
server to keep you online 24/7?
If you answered yes to all, you're perfectly right.
Without the ingredients I just mentioned above in the
right combination you are sure to fail in your business
venture.
But there is one thing that I didn't mention yet, which
will make all the difference in the world.
That is "COMMUNICATION".
If you don't connect with your visitors you won't win
them.
Even if you own a site made up of all of those ingredients,
If you don't communicate the right information to your
visitors at the right time, the right way, in the right
quantity, all your efforts will be a complete waste.
SCENE #1
Early last year, at my office one afternoon, I received
a call from an old friend, he had just set up his web
site to sell custom made ties. He said he was having
some problems and asked if I could help him.
Lets call him "John" for the sake of anonymity
John worked very hard to get the right functionality,
navigation was great, his site downloaded fast, he applied
the latest scripts to back up his concept. This guy
even did his homework in promoting his business, I was
very impressed at what he did, John was getting tons
of targeted traffic to his site daily.
But there was something missing
His visitors were not purchasing his products the way
he thought they would.
Does this sound familiar to you?
The people who visited his site daily were there for
a purpose; obviously he attracted them somehow and that
he wanted them to buy from him. But still they didn't.
Why is that?
My first conclusion was that he wasn't attracting the
right crowd. So I decided to find out what he was doing
and where these visitors were coming from.
I was wrong ... this guy knew what he was doing.
He had targeted the right keywords for search engines,
he exchanged links with other sites that complimented
his products, he promoted his business in the right
categories, I took a look at what he was telling people
in his adverts
like I said he had done his homework.
There was a clear demand, judging from his targeted
traffic.
So having cleared that out of the way, There was only
one thing that could create the whole fuss.
This is a very common situation with many web marketers,
and although it is a big fuss there is a very simple
explanation and solution.
"COMMUNICATION
"
John just didn't have the right information where he
was supposed to ... although his business was straightforward;
clients were not clear what he was trying to say.
Many people make this mistake, although it is not obvious
at first but a closer look will reveal the culprit that
has been depriving you of sales.
It is either that you put too much info in one place
or too little of it, or you have not mentioned the key
things they want to hear.
One other thing might be that your visitors have tried
very hard to understand what they will benefit from
doing business with you, but there is still some doubt,
because you lack this information.
Even if you did all that, you may not have been
able to express to them what you are really trying to
say and want them to do.
After pointing out the problem to John, we went for
another round of consultation, to see how we could fix
this
we did, and that same month John started
seeing his sales increase.
He called me up to thank me so much, and well, I didn't
get paid for it, well not directly, that day he called
me to tell me the good news, he had just sent me a catalogue
to pick any four of his best ties for free. That was
very nice of him.
One thing you should realize is that online surfers
are "click crazy", they'll click away
the second they feel any sign of doubt.
SCENE#2
Your competitors are just a click away, they might
have actually done their part in making things clearer
to your customers: Why they should do business with
them in a simple way, organized the information in the
right quantity, just enough to get them to want more.
They may have covered all the areas your customer might
have any doubt.
Your competitors may actually offer visitors additional
information by mail, a free download of a manual that
will tell them more, and has kept them up to date with
the new changes, other benefits and new or other additional
product.
All the time explaining the key benefits and
providing detailed info in a simple and clear concise
strategic manner.
They may also have a beautiful site with all the necessary
functionality, concept and a great host.
You don't have to take any chances.
- Are you sure that the visitors to your site get
the full benefit of their visit?
- Are you sure you have given it all you've got at
making your visitors your loyal customers?
- How many visitors have you been able to convert
to buyers after clicking on your site?
- How many times have you been able to stand out with
your head up not being afraid of competitors?
- Where will you be in a few months time? Will your
competition crush you, cause they won't stop at anything
to take your business from you.
- What kind of example are you? The Person in Scene
#1 (John) that his business was initially staggering
or the person in Scene #2,
(the competitor) the one that the visitor becomes
a friend, a loyal customer as well as your source
of income?
These are the questions you should ask yourself,
be truthful to yourself, it's the only way you will
discover your weakness and how to overcome them, also
you will be able to see you competitors as well.
There is a saying. "A man's greatest problem
is not being able to know he has a problem."
I tell you dear friend, a problem identified is already
half solved.
Many people feel you have to be trickish and lie to
get the visitors to buy from you. Oh no you don't you
would only hurt yourself this way.
All you have to do is to just be able to tell them
what you know about your business from the buyer's point
of view in clear words, because they can't read your
mind, as well they are very busy people who want benefits
not just to see your site.
- They have the right to know why they are there.
- They have the right to gather as much information
as possible to let them know they are making the right
choice.
- They have a right to gulp up certain amount of information
at a time.
- They have a right to be comfortable with you.
- They also have a right to choose between you and
the next business offering the same product or service
your are offering.
- Your visitors also have the right to buy from you.
You might know your product in and out, back to front,
but it may be so simple for you that you may not be
able to express your concept the right way for a potential
customer to see.
